#1 on the Flacks-I'm-Glad-I'm-Not list:
Scott McClellan. Especially after this VANITY FAIR piece debones him.
Author Michael Wolff (see here for a Q&A on his previous work) describes McClellan as:
"a pleasant, low-wattage, old-before-his-time young fellow,"
"the living symbol of this White House's profound and, perhaps, mortal problem with language and meaning."
"as though having some terrible social disability,"
"a kick-me archetype."
"Piggy in Lord of the Flies"
"Squealer from Animal Farm"
"the person nobody would ever choose to be."
"comfortable as just a cog in the greater machine"
"a little bewildered"
"strikingly out of his depth"
"he seems to have no real talent for getting people to get along with one another"
"Not being able to talk—not being quick enough and facile enough to shape language"
"a helpless and irresistible target"
"ever defensive and bureaucratic"
"the world's most pitiable creature"
"a pawn"
"rather a pantywaist"
"the kid who, unfairly and cruelly, to be sure, gets instantly set upon and pulled apart"
Ouch.
